We were there every year from the early 60’s on. It was my favorite place in the Dells. How did I survive without video games to amuse me? Fort Dells created those fun experiences.

My first trip was in 1969, I still have the pamphlet and memories, I loved this place!

I think we went during the summer of 1969. I remember the fort and getting a little tin sheriff badge when we walked in. But I especially remember the Indian Dance show, and meeting and getting the autograph of a guy named Touch the Sky. He was so impressive to 6 year old me!

My family visited the fort back in 1972. I loved the place. The haunted house rocked. My father and raced some fast go-karts. I also remember a space needle that we rode to the top. The height freaked me out. I'm truly sad that a place that gave me such wonderful memories is shut down. Curse the passage of time.
